TEDxSantaCruz Calls for 2014 Speakers with November 21 Kickoff at Hotel Paradox

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — TEDxSantaCruz Organizers are kicking off TEDxSantaCruz 2014: Activate by partnering with the Hotel Paradox for a cocktail gathering at Solaire Restaurant and Bar on November 21st, 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

This event is free and open to the public and will feature former speakers and attendees, a chance to make a video pitch of an “idea worth spreading,” and a free taste of the TEDxSantaCruz Signature ACTIVATE Cocktail. Attendees will learn more about the upcoming March 8, 2014 TEDxSantaCruz live event, view video highlights from previous events, and meet with others in the growing TEDxSantaCruz community.

The TEDxSantaCruz team is looking for around a dozen speakers or performers whose ideas embody the “Activate” theme to speak at the March event.

“From the spark of inspiration to the act of realization, we’re looking for speakers and performers whose creative and innovative ideas sparked experiences and projects or that catalyzed a new reality or solution, ignited new connections, and energized communities,” said Irene Tsouprake, Co-organizer of TEDxSantaCruz: ACTIVATE. “We want to hear from you. Come prepared to share your idea for a TEDxSantaCruz talk. We highly encourage those who attend to stop by the video-capture booth to make their own two-minute pitch,” she adds.

Pitches will be considered as possible talks for the March event, and “best of” selections may be featured on the TEDxSantaCruz.org web site.
